I was reasonably healthy, had never smoked, and was not overweight. I did not engage in any special exercise. I was however, I walker. I was told that I had a weak heart valve and that exercise would probably strengthen it. LJ’s set up a program of exercises that were suitable. My weight and BFI were within normal range. Lynn suggested additional exercises during my years of membership. Subsequent tests involving my heart have shown an improvement in the heart valve problem. |

I had no goal when I joined LJ’s. My husband had become a member and was encouraging (bugging) me to also become a member. Reluctantly, I joined. I did not have big plans or goals. My goal had been to get my husband off my back. But the benefit of the exercise program has seen decreases in my blood pressure, body fat index, blood sugar, and weight. |

Friendly, neighborly atmosphere. You’re never pressured, only encouraged. This is the third year that I’ve had a “wellness check” Health Risk Analysis done by my employer. The first two years, my numbers either remained the same or rose-something I was not happy about. This year my score improved dramatically. My weight decreased as well as my cholesterol. I also had improvements in my BMI, flexibility, blood sugar and body fat.

As an individual with a degenerative neurological disorder, LJ’s has renewed my motivation in improving my quality of life. Through the care, attention, planning, and knowledge of my condition by Lynn and the staff, I have improved my physical condition, ability to function and overall enjoyment of life. They have taught me to never give up—never give in! Thanks LJ’s!! |

I credit my improved results in a recent “Nuclear Stress Test” to the workouts at LJ’s. That was very encouraging. |

I am a senior and have joined LJ’s as an investment in my life. My goals are to age healthfully, gracefully, and enjoyably. The noticeable changes in muscle tone and health attest that I am on track to achieve those goals. LJ’s management, staff, and members are dedicated to long-term body conditioning and healthy improvement. |

Being a member of LJ’s for 11 years is one of the best things I’ve done for myself. It has become a worthwhile habit. Also, I meet the nicest people.
LJ’s note: Edie is 92 years young (yes…she started weight training at 80!)
She’s one of my heros! |
